Hydroseeding is a process that mixes a WOOD mulch, seed, fertilizer and a soil stabilizer (for erosion) in a specialized tank with a agitator.  We us WOOD mulch for superior moisture and soil retention which paper mulch can not provide.  Then the material is sprayed evenly over the prepared soil.  It germinates in approximately 3-7 days and can be sod quality in as little as 30 days with proper watering.  Hydroseeding allows us to seed from thaw to freeze!  The heavy WOOD mulch application allows us to seed during the hot summer months when you would normally not be able to seed.  Hydroseeding requires less water to establish than a sod lawn.     

BLM Landscaping can do the entire job, from grading, soil tilling, topsoil spreading, and soil amending.  In most cases, we do not require topsoil in clay soils.  We require 4" of topsoil for sand if we are to guarantee our work.

Hydroseeding is a cost effective alternative to sod.  Homeowners that choose hydroseeding find that watching your own lawn grow is more enjoyable than an "instant lawn."  We never get video taped laying sod, but we often to get a crowd when we hydroseed.  Homeowners like to take pictures and video tape the process.  You won't get that with sod!  Besides, growing seed from your own soil makes for a far superior turf than cutting the roots off a grass that was grown in ideal conditions and trying to get it to adapt to your soil.
